ANY distribution of Linux is free and so are ALL of the programs (if someone is asking money for a Linux program refuse, it will be a scam).
You can see a list of the dists here…
(I am using Ubuntu right now)

I would personally advise again BSD, it’s not too stable yet.

You said you want to play games, so windows is the answer because it has the most and latest games.

But why not just dual boot? Or multi-boot heh? You can have all three windows, Linux, BSD. If you don’t mind illegal things then you can even install Mac OS X on a PC, given that hardware is supported and you have a large hard drive.

Yes, Fedora is a version of Linux. Ubuntu is another. Red hat is another. There are a number of different Linux versions and they’re all free.

FreeBSD powinien działać poprawnie na komputerze Mac. A oprócz Fedory istnieje Zillion innych dystrybucji Linuksa do wyboru. Ale jesteś ograniczony głównie przez BSD lub Linux (jeśli chcesz coś za darmo).

Anything but Linux. I’ve been working on computers since the Ataris came out, stay away from anything Linux.
